Meditate
How To Meditate
I would like to introduce a meditation technique which is very simple and user friendly. It could be practiced by anyone who can read and understand what I am going to say. The most of the meditation techniques are complicated and may not be practicable to all groups of people.
The group of beneficiaries covers from students, employers, employees, elderly or retired people to very busy housewives because the technique is very simple and therefore, it could be practiced very easily by all of them. So, I do not have to leave anybody behind in this practice and that is my main goal. Many people in the modern world are extremely busy with day to day activities;getting ready for complicated and competitive learning barriers, struggling for earning to acquire better life needs and having restless life styles to support family members. Therefore, it is not very reasonable to introduce complicated methods to make their lives evenmore difficult. Everybody will prefer simple techniques which can be practiced very easily while attending to tedious life styles. The result you may gain in this practice is more effective and will not take a long time.
Whenever we mention the word meditation, people promptly get the idea that they have to use a meditation posture. It is hard for some people to practice sitting meditation because they have not trained to sit properly in one posture. The next thought comes to one’s mind is thathow to concentrate or have a focus on one object and is even hard for many of us .When they close their eyes and try to focus on the, in and out breath, most of the time there will be a struggle in their minds to get out of the meditation or postponed to some other time. So, many of them give up meditation very easily because it is difficult to concentrateon onepointand also sit in correct posture.
The technique, I am going to tell you has a freedom for you to choose any posture, it can be either a proper meditation posture or any comfortable posture as you prefer; leaning to a wall, lying down in the bedor sitting comfortablyat any place.
The most important advantage of this meditation technique is having a freedom to use any comfortable position. Other advantage is that no one will know or notice that you are doing meditation. Here, in this meditation practice, what we do is just focus on sounds, because ears are the next powerful sensory organ to eyes and when we close our eyes we hear lot of sounds very clearly. Sounds one hear are different from place to place, at home one get sounds of people and what they do. In different environments a person may hear birds singing, sounds of animals and wind blowing. Near towns one may hear different noises from crowded people, running vehicles and other machinery. The main advantage of listening to sounds is that noises and sounds are everywhere. What a person has to do is just listen to various sounds mindfully while letting any thoughts sweep through the mind. There will be a good progress with time and help not to worry. Sound change every moment, arise and vanishes quickly and it helps to refresh minds and be at the present moment. It is an effortless excises and not necessary to struggle like most of the techniques. Although, it is a very simple technique, it helps a lot to develop one’s mind and the progress is great and fruitful.
As a beginner, still someone may feel strange but be curios to start to practice the technique. It is also very important to have a faith in what do and to continue the practice. The other meditation practice I would like to introduce is also very important and simple, that is to do thing very attentively and learn to do anything mindfully. Most of the time our minds arewondering with various thoughts.Usually, we are used to do our work without concentrationon what we do. Very often the mind and the body do not coordinate and perform the work. Therefore the work we do may not be perfect and sometimes need to repeat the same work. There will be lot of wastages; monetary, time and energy. For an example, if a child does not try to concentrate on studies and doing other things as everybody has wondering minds, he will not remember lessons and fail in exams or get poor results. Mind can be trained to concentrate on what a person do. It is very important for to learn about how to live mindfully and improve quality of lives.
How do we start this training to be mindful? We wake up in the morning and do our morning duties, brushing teeth, washing face etc. It may usually take 3 minutes to brush teeth and within these three minutes what else can a person do! Many thought may rush into the mind; however, the most of them are useless. This is where a person can start training. A person can try to brush teeth mindfully and wash face mindfully. This way a person can begin practicing with something simple, when using the toilet do it mindfully, while drinking tea or eating meals do mindfully and finally the person will be able do everything mindfully throughout the day.
